ETDS Enschede, Whitsun 2012

ETDS stands for European Tournament for Dancing Students; it is a ballroom dancing event that dates back to the nineteen eighties. It started as a tournament between a couple of German university teams and it has grown into a semi-annual event that hosts up to seven hundred dancers from over thirty universities.

The team of Twente University joined the ETDS at the end of the twentieth century and was the first Dutch University to win the team-prize: “Die Tanzmaus”. She hosted the ETDS in 2005 for the first time, and got the honour of hosting it again after winning “Der Tanzmaus” for the second time in 2009. She is proud to show all of dancing Europe the beautiful and lovely city of Enschede.

Let us start with introducing ourselves:

Frank Halfwerk, ETDS dancer since 2008, open class and chairman of the ETDS-board. He has the difficult task of keeping all the woman of the board in control.

Wendy Dankers, ETDS dancer since 2008, breitensport. She is in charge of all our communication.

Fenna Janssen, ETDS dancer since 2011, breitensport. She takes care of the finances.

Linda Zandt-Sloot, ETDS-dancer since 2005, teamcaptain of Team Twente. She has to make sure that we have enough funding to organise an amazing ETDS.
